N.H. Construction Firm Pays $158K Haz Waste Settlement
A New Hampshire judge has approved a hazardous waste violation settlement that will see a Pembroke construction company pay a $157,500 fine.
The state alleged Venture Construction, Inc., transported and stored hazardous waste without a permit and did not properly manage hazardous waste at its facility in Pembroke. The state said the facility was about 1,000 feet from a well that provides water to Pembroke, Allenstown and Hooksett. Testing showed there was no contamination.
The state said the company waterproofed bridges around the country, and brought waste materials back to the Pembroke site.
