Delaware Police Cite 67 for Restraints Violations
Police across Delaware have cited 67 drivers for not having children in proper restraints in a car during a highway safety campaign.
The Office of Highway Safety says the citations were issued during National Child Passenger Safety Week, the last week of September.
Those cited must pay a $25 ticket and court costs.
Highway Safety spokeswoman Andrea Summers says children have to be in car seats until the child is eight years old or weighs more than 65 pounds.
There are also regulations for what type of carseat depending on the child’s age and weight.
