New York Suit Seeks $10M for Unnecessary Brain Surgery
A lawsuit says neurosurgeons operated twice on a New York woman for brain and spinal cord problems she didn’t have.
Kristy Pirozzolo is suing Long Island doctors Paolo Bolognese and Thomas Milhorat for $10 million.
Pirozzolo says she now has constant pain and has trouble moving her head.
An attorney for the doctors and hospital, Tony Sola, vowed to “defend this lawsuit on the science and the evidence and the truth.”
The doctors were suspended last month. Bolognese didn’t show up to operate on a patient who was already under anesthesia. Milhorat refused to cover for him.
Milhorat stepped down as North Shore University Hospital’s chief of neurosurgery. Bolognese was reinstated.
