Roadside Accident Kills Tow Truck Driver in New York City
A tow truck driver is dead after he pulled to the shoulder of the road in the Bronx and was hit by a car.
The accident happened shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday on the Cross Bronx Expressway.
The 68-year-old truck driver was towing a U-Haul truck when he pulled onto the shoulder of the road due to mechanical problems.
He got out of his truck and was hit by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other car was charged with driving with a suspended license. Additional charges are pending.
Neither man’s name was immediately released.
