Small Plane Crashes in Maryland Road; Pilot Unhurt
Maryland State Police say an 80-year-old man was able to walk away after the small experimental plane he was flying crashed on the median of a road.
The plane came down on the median of Route 113 at Groton Road in Pocomoke City around on Sunday afternoon.
Police say the pilot of the Hawk ultralight, Preston Smith, was not injured.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration will conduct a post-crash investigation. Police say the preliminary investigation indicates that the aircraft experienced fuel complications.
