Carnival Worker Seriously Hurt in Fall in New York
Firefighters say a carnival worker has fallen off a 15-foot-high platform while taking down a Ferris wheel in western New York, suffering serious head and neck injuries.
Hilton Fire Chief Eric Guest says the worker slipped off the platform and tumbled to the ground around 11 p.m. Saturday in the village, about 15 miles northwest of Rochester. The worker was helping to dismantle the Fire Department’s annual carnival after a fierce rainstorm.
Guest says the worker remained conscious and has been taken to a hospital. The worker’s age and identity weren’t immediately available.
