Delaware Issues 1,700 Citations in Anti-Speeding Campaign
Delaware authorities issued 274 citations for speeding violations last week as part of its 2009 Stop Aggressive Driving campaign.
The campaign launched on July 6, and 1,738 speeding citations have been issued so far.
In another public safety campaign, law enforcement offices arrested 13 people over the weekend on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs as part of Checkpoint Strikeforce.
That campaign is a regional sobriety effort aimed at arresting DUI offenders and using high visibility enforcement to deter drinking and driving.
