2 Massachusetts Window Washers Rescued from 37th Story of Building
Two window washers have been rescued after being trapped on a platform hanging 37 stories up on a downtown Boston office building.
Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald said firefighters rescued the workers Wednesday morning by breaking a couple of windows from the 40-story building.
Authorities had kept pedestrians away from the area to protect them from any falling glass.
MacDonald said one side of the platform somehow shifted downward while workers were cleaning windows on the 37th floor. They were trapped on the platform until firefighters arrived.
One the workers was transported to a hospital for evaluation. The other refused medical care. MacDonald said neither was seriously injured.
