Maryland Playground Fires Causes $175K in Damage
Authorities are offering up to $6,500 in rewards for information about the arson of elementary school playground equipment in Cumberland.
City and state investigators say the fire Saturday morning caused an estimated $175,000 worth of damage to the climbing walls and slides at John Humbird Elementary School.
Investigators say surveillance video shows a person in the area about the time of the fire.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Allegany & Mineral Counties Crime Solvers is offering up to $1,500 in reward money.
