OSHA Says Northeastern Pennsylvania Plant Has Safety Violations
Federal authorities have cited a company for alleged health and safety violations at its northeastern Pennsylvania plant.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposes that Bridon American Corp. pay a $156,000 fine following a February investigation at its plant in Exeter, Luzerne County.
OSHA cited the company with six repeat violations alleging electrical and energy source hazards and unguarded machinery. Seven citations labeled serious were also issued for what the agency said were electrical and energy hazards, unguarded machinery, and fall hazards.
Bridon American Corp. has 166 employees and manufactures wire rope for the maritime, transportation and construction industries. A company official did not return a message seeking comment Monday.
