Police: Pennsylvania Man Watched Fire He Allegedly Set
A northwestern Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he set fire to a duplex after police say he was arrested after returning to watch the blaze.
Nobody was hurt in the fire set about 6:15 a.m. Saturday in Meadville, though police say the suspect, 26-year-old Marcus Stout, had a domestic dispute with a woman who lived there. She and her infant child weren’t home at the time.
A convenience store clerk tells police that Stout tried to buy a small amount of gasoline earlier Saturday but didn’t have a container, so he bought a can of lighter fluid instead.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Stout, who remained in the Crawford County Jail unable to post $100,000 bond on Monday.
Police say he set the fire in a first-floor bedroom.
