Maryland Man Charged with Setting Fire to Own House
Maryland police have charged a man with setting fires in his own Pasadena house in April.
Forty-three-year-old William Macher surrendered to police on Wednesday and has been charged with arson, manufacturing or possessing a destructive device and other offenses. He was released Thursday on $500,000 bond.
After the April 5 blaze, fire investigators say they found two incendiary devices in the kitchen. According to charging documents, construction paper was stuffed into the cabinets, then trailed to the countertop next to two plastic containers filled with gasoline. On the counter next to the paper was a partially burned candle.
Court documents indicate two similar devices were found in other rooms of the house.
