Maryland Poultry Farm Fire Causes $700K in Damage
Maryland authorities say a large wind-swept fire has ripped through a poultry farm in Warwick, burning buildings and drawing more than 100 firefighters.
Cecil County officials say the fire broke out about 7:30 p.m. Monday at the ISE America farm on Sassafras Road, and was brought under control about 11 p.m. At least 10 fire companies from Maryland and Delaware responded to the blaze.
Officials say four wood-framed chicken coops were affected, and the damage was estimated at $700,000.
Maryland state fire officials say one firefighter was taken to a hospital for a possible broken wrist.
