Connecticut Police Investigating Copper Piping Thefts
State police in northeastern Connecticut say they’re investigating thefts of copper piping and other metal objects from several unoccupied homes over the past month.
Troopers based in Danielson asked for the public’s help Thursday in catching the thieves.
They say the suspects have been targeting unoccupied homes that are in foreclosure, for sale, under construction or recently completed, with the aim of selling the copper and other metals for scrap.
State police are asking neighbors of these kinds of homes to keep an eye on them. Troopers say the thefts have been occurring at all hours of the day and night.
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call state police in Danielson.
