Pennsylvania Bottler Fined $111K Over Workplace Violations
Federal regulators say they have cited an eastern Pennsylvania bottling company after finding two dozen workplace safety and health violations.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Wednesday it’s levying nearly $111,000 in fines against A-Treat Bottling Co.
OSHA says A-Treat, among other things, failed to properly train employees, failed to maintain forklifts in safe operating condition, and failed to protect employees from electrical hazards. The agency says it found six repeat violations.
An A-Treat official had no immediate comment.
A-Treat makes and bottles soft drinks. Founded in 1918, the bottler has about 50 workers at its Allentown facility.
