Crane Topples Falling into Vermont Market
Fire officials in Georgia, Vt., say a crane tipped over and its boom went right through the roof of a market next door.
Elwin Sweeney, of the Georgia Volunteer Fire Department, tells WCAX-TV the crane fell into Georgia Market on Route 7 at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. No one was injured.
Workers were about to put a truss on the frame of the building when the crane operator felt it start to tip.
Sweeney says it’s a good thing it happened early in the morning because the market’s typically busy around lunchtime and would’ve had more people in it.
