Letterman to Make TV Pitch for New York Flood Victims
Late night TV host David Letterman will make a national plea to help flood victims in Schoharie.
The CBS star once bused nearly half the town to his studio in New York City as a gag. On Monday he will pitch in with a national appeal for funds for residents, many of whom have no insurance coverage for the historic flooding.
Schoharie was among the hardest hit New York communities slammed by tropical storms Irene and Lee within days.
In 2002, Letterman brought residents to the studio in 10 buses and took some light-hearted jabs at the residents, who loved it.
They named a street for Letterman in Letterman’s style: It leads to the landfill.
