Family Settles Suit in Fatal Virginia Trolley Accident
The family of an elderly man who was fatally struck by a trolley two years ago in Staunton has agreed to an $850,000 settlement of a lawsuit.
The News Leader reports the settlement was reached Tuesday by the family of 88-year-old Leo South of Churchville.
South was struck in September 2009 while crossing a parking lot at a retirement community. He died a month later.
The lawsuit was filed against Virginia Regional Transit and the trolley’s driver in August County Circuit Court.
