Virginia Officials Announce 2 Disaster Aid Centers Opening
Federal and state agencies in Virginia are opening a new disaster recovery center in Spotsylvania County and reopening one in Louisa County to assist victims of last year’s earthquake.
The Spotsylvania center at 3960 Courthouse Road and the Louisa center at the Triangle Plaza Shopping Center will be open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Officials recommend registering for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA, or by going online at DiasterAssistance.gov, before visiting a disaster recovery center.
The registration deadline is March 5.
Louisa County was the center of the magnitude-5.8 earthquake last Aug. 23.
