Upstate New York City Digs Out After 32.5 Inch Snowfall
The National Weather Service reports that when it stopped snowing in Fulton Monday afternoon, 32.5 inches of snow had fallen on the city located 10 miles from Lake Ontario’s southern shore.
Schools in the city are opening two hours late Tuesday morning as crews continue to plow the roads.
The storm nearly doubled the amount of snow that had fallen this winter in Fulton, which had been experiencing a relatively mild stretch of weather for this time of year.
The weather service says the thick band of lake-effect storms dropped 19 inches of snow on the neighboring town of Minetto.
