Ice Sculptures Vandalized at Central Pennsylvania Festival
Officials said the sculptures of subjects ranging from fire to a high-heeled shoe were ruined late Friday or early Saturday, hours before crowds were expected for the Lititz Fire & Ice Festival.
Organizer Dawn Rissmiller told the (Lancaster) Sunday News that officials are “just sick about it.”
After a similar problem five years ago, officials arranged to have the sculptures guarded, but they decided that wasn’t needed this time after years without problems.
The sculptures are created by a western Pennsylvania company and paid for by sponsors. The loss was estimated at about $2,500.
Police are checking security video, and Rissmiller said she hopes whoever is responsible will come forward.
