Jury Awards New York Woman $825,000 in 2007 Crash
A jury has awarded a Westchester County woman $825,000 for injuries she sustained when her car was struck by a firefighter en route to a crash.
The jury ordered the former fire chief, Henry Mohr, and the town of Harrison to pay Sandra Fugazi $825,000 in damages.
Mohr was responding to a crash on the Hutchinson River Parkway on June 21, 2007, when he struck Fugazi’s car.
Fugazi had a green light and was traveling between 20-30 mph. She said she never heard any sirens.
According to the Journal News, her lawyer said she suffered injuries to her neck and had to significantly reduce her activities.
Town Supervisor Ron Belmont declined to comment on the jury award. The town has 30 days to appeal.
