New Jersey Officials Used Public Generators at Homes

When the power went out after Superstorm Sandy blew through, some New Jersey officials put emergency generators in their homes and businesses.

According to published reports, at least four New Jersey officials are under fire after taking public generators for their personal use.

The generators kept their lights on and refrigerators running after the power went out.

The Star-Ledger of Newark reports Sussex County undersheriff George DeOld resigned this week after a county generator was delivered to DeOld’s home.

According to The Record of Woodland Park, North Haledon Mayor Randy George and Police Chief Robert Bracco are under fire for putting public generators in their homes.

The superintendent of the Westwood Regional School District is being investigated for using a district generator and car during the storm.
