NWS Confirms Friday Tornado in Fredericksburg, Virginia
The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down in Fredericksburg, Va.
The weather service says the tornado tore the roof off an apartment building, uprooted trees and ripped off ventilation units and roofing materials at a shopping plaza where it touched down Friday evening.
The tornado traveled about three-quarters of a mile before it dissipated. Winds reached up to 90 miles per hour.
There were no injuries.
