Proposed Massachusetts License Plate to Aid Bomb Victims
State lawmakers are considering whether to allow motorists to buy a “Boston Strong” license plate with proceeds helping victims of the April 15 marathon bombing.
The Legislature’s transportation committee is scheduled to hear the bill Tuesday.
The specialty plate would cost at least $50 with a portion of the proceeds going to One Fund Boston, the charity created to help victims of the bombing and their families. One free plate would be given to an immediate family member of those who died or were most severely injured.
More than 60 legislators have signed on as sponsors of the bill.
