Vermont Apartment House Fire Ruled as Arson
Vermont investigators say an early morning fire at a Bennington apartment house was set on purpose.
Officials say the fire on Gage Street was reported shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday and was put out within half an hour. Nobody was injured, but state police say in a press release that the building is considered a total loss.
Because of the suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire, local officials asked the Vermont State Police fire investigation unit to determine the origin and cause.
State police say fire investigators have determined the fire was an arson.
