New Mobile App Offers Superstorm Sandy Boardwalk Stories
A new GPS-based app is telling the story about the damage done by Superstorm Sandy to Seaside Park and the work that continues to get back to normal.
NJ.com reports that the “Boardwalk Stories from Sandy” app launched last week. It tells the stories of residents from Seaside Park and its famous boardwalk. The boardwalk was heavily damaged by the storm and then later by fire.
The app was created by a group of radio producers.
Justin Auciello, of South Seaside Park, is founder of Jersey Shore Hurricane News and helped create the content for the app.
He says it’s supposed to be fun but he also hopes it gets people thinking about issues they haven’t thought about before, such as whether things should be rebuilt as they were before.
