Cybersettle Obtains U.K. Patent

February 10, 2003

Online settlement company Cybersettle, Inc. announced that the United Kingdom patent office has granted Cybersettle a patent on its method for settling disputes. This patent is the first of its kind to be granted among the European Union nations and lays the groundwork for Cybersettle’s expansion into Europe.

Charles Brofman, Cybersettle president and CEO noted, “We have worked closely with the U.K. patent office and congratulate our patent counsel Venner, Shipley & Co., Chartered and European Patent Attorneys, in London, on their excellent work in obtaining this historic patent.”

As a result of the patent grant and significant recent strides made in the United States, the company is currently looking for U.K. partners with which to align itself for the purpose of developing this insurance marketplace.

“We are excited about our patent and positioning Cybersettle in the U.K. as we begin to formulate our plans to conclude a transaction in the near future. The U.K. will be the second international marketplace for Cybersettle, as we have already launched our Canadian operations, with a significant Canadian partner,” Brofman added.
