XL Capital Ltd. Notes Speaker Program, Web site for GRC
XL Capital Ltd announced its speaker program and official Web site for the XL Capital Congress, a global risk conference being held Sept. 4-5 in Montreux, Switzerland.
As previously announced, the theme for the conference is “Thought Leadership for a World at Risk” in which presenters will critically examine major economic, political and social issues with the aim of helping Congress attendees, comprising some of the world’s leading corporations, to gain a better understanding of the changing face of risk and its evolving impact on the business world.
On Day One, the program focuses on world risk issues and will feature speakers Jeffrey Sachs, Director of The Earth Institute; Noreena Hertz, Cambridge Professor and anti-globalization icon; Dr. Jan Pronk, president of the Kyoto Conference and 1998 — 2001 Dutch Minister for the Environment; William Cohen, 1997 — 2001 U.S. Secretary of Defense; Mike Moore, 1999 — 2002 WTO Director General and Prime Minister of New Zealand; Carol Bellamy, Executive Director of UNICEF; Dr. Theo Waigel, 1989 — 98 German Minister of Finance; Dr. J. Craig Venter, president of The Center for the Advancement of Genomics; and Jonathan Aiken, anchorman for CNN International.
On Day Two, the programme focuses on global business issues and will feature speakers Dr. Felix von Cube, Professor of Educational Science at the University of Heidelberg; Jerry Linenger, Astronaut, U.S. Air Force Officer; and Sir John Vereker, Governor of Bermuda.
An executive panel will also be conducted on Day Two to discuss Transferring global business risks featuring John Sinnott, Director of Marsh & McLennan Companies; Karl Wittmann, Executive Board Member of Munich Re; Martin Albers, Executive Board Member of Swiss Re; moderator Michael Butt, chairman of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited; and Brian O’Hara, president and CEO of XL Capital Ltd.
