Tirel Named VP of Crawford’s Global Marine and Transportation
Jeffrey Bowman, chief operating officer, Global Property and Casualty business unit for Crawford & Company, reported that Capt. John Tirel has been promoted to vice president, Global Marine and Transportation and will be responsible for the strategy and development of the Global Marine Division.
Tirel joined Crawford & Company in 2004 and is experienced in shipping, marine, surveying and insurance. His previous experience includes extensive marine surveying, consulting, protection and indemnity correspondence and insurance throughout the Middle East, East Africa, Europe, and the United States.
Tirel holds a Ship Master’s Certificate and is a member of the Institute of International Marine Surveying and the Society of Consulting Marine
Engineers and Ship Surveyors. He has also been called as an expert witness in English, Canadian, and Portuguese courts of law and arbitrations and has given numerous seminars on marine surveying.
