The ASU Group Board Announces Elections
The Board of Directors of The ASU Group, an independent resource serving the claim information needs of the insurance industry, has elected Tara O’Connor-LaRose as CEO/president.
O’Connor-LaRose has been employed at the company since 1985. She has served in several management positions, most recently as executive vice president and COO. Michael Wood was also elected as secretary/treasurer. Larry Musser, the long-standing president of the company, retired effective Dec. 31, 2003, but will continue to serve on the Board.
The Board of Directors also re-elected the following members: Rick Lund, Kim Pavlik, Art Knueppel, James Matthews, and Larry Musser. Duane Hershberger was elected as a new board member and Art Knueppel and James Matthews were elected chief governance and vice chief governance officer respectively.
Additionally, the Board also adopted a board governance model developed by John Carver. Carver’s Policy Governance® is a specific set of concepts and principles and their application to the leadership of boards and the board-management partnership. The model has been widely used throughout business, government, and non-profit organizations.
