Section (ABA/TIPS) and the American Insurance Association (AIA) announced their second joint insurance litigation conference, “Tools for Conquering New Frontiers and Familiar Foes,” which will take place in Chicago June 9-10, 2005.
“The conference will provide a comprehensive exploration of challenging insurance litigation developments and cutting-edge responses,” said James Carroll, TIPS chair. “This will be a lively and

“The conference will address a wide range of topics of importance to all segments of the insurance industry,” said Craig Berrington, AIA senior vice president and general counsel. “The topics have been
selected by industry leaders, and the speakers include corporate counsels, defense attorneys, current and former state insurance regulators, and other noted experts.”
The target audience for the conference includes insurance counsels, claims and underwriting management and staff, risk managers, and defense attorneys.
The program begins with a welcome reception Wednesday, June 8 at 6 p.m. On Thursday, the panels will focus on forecasting, emerging tort theories, the intersection of regulation and litigation, e-discovery
and record retention, and class actions. On Friday, speakers will consider the management of legal representation and engage in a roundtable discussion to recap and analyze highlights of earlier sessions.
Continuing legal education (CLE) credit is available for both days, with ethics credit on the second day.
