Mo. DOI Denies Insurance Producer License Renewal
The Missouri Department of Insurance has refused to renew the license of an insurance producer for reported consumer protection violations.
Mark Henry of Olathe, Kan., held a license with the Department of Insurance allowing him to conduct insurance business in the state of Missouri. On Sept. 10, 2004, the Department received a renewal application for this license.
In October 2003, the Department reportedly began receiving complaints against Henry regarding his solicitations and sales of hospital/medical-surgical expense policy underwritten by Mega Life and Health Insurance Company.
During 2003, Henry was reportedly telling potential clients that a benefit plan offered by Mega Life was comparable to major medical plans offered by many group carriers. He also told potential clients that one large health carrier was going out of business or was on a watch list. Henry also provided his clients with unapproved flier advertisements.
After the Department conducted its investigation, the Kansas Insurance Commissioner issued a summary order on Nov. 10, 2004 revoking Henry’s license for failure to report a civil judgment involving consumer fraud rendered in Clinton County, Missouri, against Henry.
To this date, Henry has reportedly failed to report in writing to the Department the license revocation by the State of Kansas and matters raised in the Missouri Department of Insurance investigation.
