St. Louis Man Faces Charges in Home Repair Scam
A Franklin County, Missouri grand jury has handed down a 10-count indictment at the request of Attorney General Jay Nixon and Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney Robert Parks against a St. Louis man who was paid for home repair work that was reportedly never performed.
Dana Luckey (DOB 10/24/66) faces 10 felony counts of violating Missouri’s Merchandising Practices Act.
Nixon and Parks allege that in the fall of 2003 Luckey, doing business as K&L Contracting, contracted with several Franklin County residents to install new roofs, gutters, down spouts, siding and windows. In each instance advance payment was made for the work, but to date no work has been performed nor has a refund been issued.
Violation of the Merchandising Practices Act is a class D felony, punishable by up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine per count.
Luckey was being held in the Franklin County jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
