17-Year-Old Faces Arson Charge
Police and fire officials in Nampa, Idaho say a 17-year-old girl faces arson charges after fire caused substantial damage to a home she was visiting.
Nampa Assistant Fire Chief Doug Strosnider says the blaze caused about $50,000 worth of damage and left the home uninhabitable. The teen-ager’s name was not released, the Idaho Statesman reports.
No one was hurt in the blaze.
Investigators determined the fire was set intentionally inside a bedroom by the girl, who was visiting family friends.
Police declined to say what the motive was. The teen was released to the custody of her parents.
