Feds Give Almost $5 Million to Rebuild N.D. Tornado Damaged School
State officials say the Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide nearly $5 million to rebuild the school in the town of Northwood after a tornado last August.
The announcement came from the state’s congressional delegation and Gov. John Hoeven.
Officials say the total cost of rebuilding the school is more than $14 million. Hoeven said the State Fire and Tornado Fund, which provides property insurance for buildings owned by state political subdivisions, has reimbursed $7.6 million.
The tornado struck last August 26, killing one man, injuring 18 people and destroying much of the Grand Forks County town of about 950.
