South Dakota Storm Damage Extensive

Officials took pictures and recorded extensive storm damage in the South Dakotan Counties of Hughes and Stanley.

Emergency Management Director Rob Fines said the damage from heavy rains and large hail has been great, with floods damaging homes and farm fields such as wheat and alfalfa.

He thinks the county commissions in both counties will consider requesting disaster aid from both the state and federal governments.

He has no dollar estimate of the damage and says the survey is not finished yet.
