Kansas Police Report 2 Crashes Involving Drivers Aged 9, 13
Was last Saturday kids’ day on Kansas highways?
The Highway Patrol reported two single-vehicle crashes involving underage drivers, landing both youngsters in hospitals.
Troopers said a 9-year-old St. George boy rolled a pickup truck Saturday night as he tried to outrun law officers on U.S. 24 in Pottawatomie County. The patrol’s crash log said the driver lost control of the truck and rolled it into a ditch. He was taken to a Wamego hospital for treatment.
Hours earlier, a van driven by a 13-year-old girl Topeka plowed into a ditch along Interstate 70 near Junction City and overturned.
The girl was flown to a Topeka hospital for treatment.
