Elkhart, Indiana-Made Electric Cars Recalled for 3rd Time
An Elkhart, Ind., maker of electric cars has issued its third recall in six weeks.
The Elkhart Truth reported that Think North America has filed documents with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recalling 23 of its City electric cars produced late last year after one dealer and two owners reported the vehicles had rolled forward when the gearshift was in the park position.
The cars, assembled in Elkhart from Dec. 8 to 22, were found to have improperly adjusted gear shift levers, the company said.
Company spokesman Brendan Prebo says all of the affected cars have been inspected and serviced.
Two previous recalls on the same 23 vehicles addressed seat belt and defroster problems.
