Illinois Businesses Help Fraternity After Fire

April 29, 2011

The community around Illinois State University in Normal, Ill., is stepping up to help two dozen students after their fraternity house was damaged in a fire.

WJBC Radio reports that two Normal restaurants are holding fundraisers for the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity after last week’s blaze. All the men who lived in the two-story building got out safely.

They’re now living in an on-campus residence hall but hope to move back into the house.

One restaurant, D.P. Dough, has collected nearly $400. Owner Ryan Fiala calls the effort a “good way to help out the ISU community.”

Windy City Wieners is donating 10 percent of its April 26 sales to the fraternity.
