North Dakota Disaster Money for Flooding Tops $250 Million
Authorities say federal and state disaster assistance for flooding in North Dakota has topped $250 million.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency says more than 9,500 people have registered so far and more than $87 million has been approved for temporary housing and essential home repairs.
In addition, the U.S. Small Business Administration has approved more than $150 million in low-interest disaster loans.
People and businesses in Barnes, Benson, Burleigh, McHenry, Morton, Ramsey, Renville, Richland and Ward counties are eligible for private aid, as well as the Spirit Lake Reservation. They have until Sept. 22 to apply.
