Arson Hits 2nd Ohio University Dorm in Less than Month
Authorities are reporting the second dormitory arson fire in less than a month on the Ohio University campus in Athens.
The state fire marshal’s office says in a news release that investigators have not ruled out a possible connection between the two fires.
The latest broke out Monday at Foster House, where investigators say fire was set inside a clothes dryer in a common laundry area on the dorm’s ground floor. No injuries were reported and the damage was minimal, confined to the dryer.
A fire Oct. 19 at the True House dormitory burned in one room and caused heat and smoke damage in others. Everyone got out safely.
Rewards of up to $5,000 are being offered for tips on both fires.
