Michigan Jail Inmate Enters Plea in Arson Solicitation Case
A Livingston County, Mich., jail inmate who authorities say tried to get a fellow prisoner to burn down his home has pleaded guilty in the case.
WHMI-FM and the Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell report Jeremy Wilds of Iosco Township entered the plea Friday to an arson-related charge.
Sentencing is scheduled for April 26.
A former inmate said that Wilds, who was jailed in an assault and domestic violence case, offered him $50,000 to burn down his home last year before his pending divorce from his wife. The inmate said Wilds claimed payment would come from a $250,000 insurance policy on the home.
The inmate also said Wilds drew a map of the property.
