Bond Set For South Dakota Arson Suspect
Bond has been set for a Sioux Falls man whose arrest on a reckless burning charge has prompted police to review a rash of suspected arsons last year.
Twenty-four-year-old Damon First In Trouble is accused of torching a van and other crimes. The Argus Leader reports that a judge set his bond at $2,000 on the burning charge and $2,000 on the other charges, less than the $20,000 requested by prosecutors but more than what public defender Kenny Jacobs said he thought was fair.
KELO-TV reports First In Trouble lives on the same street where four suspicious fires happened last fall. Officers have not linked him to any of those fires.
Officials say there were 16 suspicious fires in the area last fall.
