Demo Workers Hurt in St. Louis Stairwell Collapse
Two demolition workers are hospitalized after a stairwell collapsed at the site of an apartment building fire in St. Louis, Mo.
The men were working Sunday when the collapse occurred. Tom McLain of the St. Louis Fire Department says the men were trapped for about 20 minutes but were conscious and talking after being pulled from the rubble by rescuers.
Their names were not released and their conditions were not available.
The building on Lindell Boulevard was damaged in a massive blaze on July 18, leaving 250 residents homeless.
