A young child is recovering from a serious gash to his head after a carnival ride he was on malfunctioned.
The Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil reports that the accident happened Friday night on a ride at a carnival in Council Bluffs.
Authorities say the child was on the “Monster Truck” ride – a small ride in which cars run along a track – when his truck lurched and flipped over onto the one in front of it.
The child suffered a deep gash to the forehead and was taken to an Omaha hospital.
The child’s name and condition have not been released.
