Indiana Weather Preparedness Week Starts Sunday
Gov. Mike Pence has proclaimed March 16-22 as severe weather and flood safety preparedness week in Indiana.
The National Weather Service says the goal of severe weather preparedness week is to better educate people about the hazards of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, and to help everyone be prepared when severe weather strikes.
The weather service will conduct a statewide test of communication systems on March 20 between 10:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
The weather service recommends that all Indiana residents plan for and be ready to respond to extreme weather events.
