Pickering Named Assistant Vice President of GEICO’s Midwest Claims Operation
Frank Pickering has been named assistant vice president of claims for GEICO’s Midwest region. Pickering previously served as auto damage director in the company’s Fredericksburg, Va., regional office. He will begin his new assignment on June 27 at the regional office in Macon, Ga.
Pickering began his career with the company in 1998, as a sales agent in the San Diego regional office. In 2000, he transitioned to the Fredericksburg location after being named sales supervisor.
In 2003, Pickering was selected to supervise sales at a new regional office in Tucson, Ariz. Later that year, he joined the staff development department at the company’s corporate headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md., where he specialized in management training and development.
Pickering entered GEICO’s Supervisory Leadership Program in 2006, serving in a number of rotational positions and field assignments including drive-in claims offices and Auto RX facilities. In 2008, he was promoted to auto damage field supervisor in the Virginia Beach, Va., regional office.
In 2011, he returned to the Fredericksburg office to serve as auto damage manager prior to becoming the region’s auto damage director in 2013. He succeeded Sue Worthen who retired in June.
