VFS Insurance Group’s Reach Expands Across the U.S.
VFS Insurance Group, the insurance division of the Volvo Group, has added eight states and the District of Columbia to the list of states in which it is licensed to sell insurance, bringing the total to 22 plus D.C.
Over the last year, VFS (www.vfsig.com) has added Iowa, Kansas, North Dakota, Utah, West Virginia, Missouri, Virginia and Alaska to its list of licensed states. VFS already was licensed in Arizona, California, Delaware, Indiana, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota and Texas.
“As we add states, we are better able to add managing general agents and serve the commercial transportation industry, especially the trucking sector,” said Larry Weisberg, president of VFS Insurance Group. “By 2005, we should be licensed in 40 states.”
VFS Insurance Group was created in 2001 as the new designation for Volvo’s worldwide insurance operations, a group that includes Triumphe Casualty, Accelerated Reinsurance, Action Service and Triumphe Life. The group sells insurance to the entire commercial transportation industry, with a focus on the trucking industry, and is currently recruiting managing general agents. The Group is a subsidiary of Volvo Financial Services, a multi-faceted financial organization supporting the manufacturing operations of Volvo and its subsidiaries, including Mack Trucks and Renault VI.
VFS Insurance Group’s services include a comprehensive Trucker’s Physical Damage and Cargo claims program with Action Service, another Volvo company.
