MetLife Auto & Home’s GrandProtect Includes ID Theft Cover in Package
MetLife Auto & Home announced the introduction of GrandProtect, a new comprehensive “package” policy that provides personal insurance protection for consumers with complex insurance needs.
GrandProtect packages auto, home, and other personal insurance into one policy with one bill, one renewal date, and one deductible. It also provides additional coverages that usually require add-ons or endorsements, including higher built-in limits for jewelry, silverware, and collectibles; worldwide liability coverage for rental cars; and identity theft coverage.
“GrandProtect is designed for customers who require a greater level of insurance protection, and who are looking to simplify their financial lives,” said Bill Mullaney, president of MetLife Auto & Home. “Millions of consumers now have to insure many different items on different policies, such as autos, homes, vacation homes, an RV or boat, not to mention an umbrella policy, to make sure they’re completely covered.
Consumers know firsthand what a complex and often confusing process it can be to deal with multiple bills, multiple expiration dates, and often, several different insurers. On top of that, they still have to worry about gaps in their coverage. GrandProtect eliminates those hassles and worries.”
GrandProtect is available to qualified consumers who insure at least one home (renters, condo, or stand-alone residence) and one auto (city dwellers will appreciate that it can be a non-owned auto with primary coverage). GrandProtect also enables consumers to insure multiple autos, residential property, boat, personal excess liability, recreational vehicle, and motorcycle protection.
All GrandProtect packages contain a single loss deductible per occurrence–even if multiple lines of business are affected. For autos, the package features such value-added coverage as replacement cost for new owned vehicles involved in a total loss during the first year or 15,000 miles, no depreciation for special parts, and enhanced rental car damage coverage, subject to state availability. The policy automatically contains $25,000 in expense reimbursement for individuals who become identity theft victims, as well as, at no additional premium, identity theft resolution services to help people get their lives back in order.
GrandProtect will be introduced throughout 2005-2006 to select MetLife Auto & Home career and independent agents.
